Denver, CO (PRWEB) April 26, 2006 -- With Colorado quickly
edging its way into the national top three markets for beauty
and cosmetic surgery, it only seemed natural that the country’s
leading per capita non-profit region would take advantage of
this growing economic resource. Bloom Magazine (www.bloomcolorado.com)
has partnered with the Beacon Center (www.beaconcenter.org)
for what will become the state’s largest beauty and fashion
related charity event – A Beautiful Day. Participating businesses
will give all, or a portion of the day’s gross sales to The
Bloom Foundation, which will present the proceeds to The Beacon
Center. By visiting their favorite state’s salons, spas, boutiques,
cosmetic doctors, dermatologists, LASIK doctors and cosmetic
dentists on Saturday, September 9th, Coloradoans can pamper
and indulge as they always would, while helping give back to
the community.
Participating doctors have agreed to donate 100% of their
fees, and local salons, spas and fashion boutiques will be donating
at least 20% of their daily sales. Bloom expects to raise more
than $200,000 for the Beacon Center, an unprecedented amount
for a first year fundraising event.
A Beautiful Day will rally together Colorado’s beauty industry
in a joint effort to support the adolescents and families who
benefit from The Beacon Center’s homes and community programs.
“When we looked at our business plan, we saw the tremendous
impact that the local beauty industry could have on our community,”
stated Zac Folk, Bloom’s Publisher and A Beautiful Day Chairman
and Co-Founder. “We’re dealing with a market that boasts billions
in sales every year. Bringing our clients, readers and others
together for one day can and will make a huge impact for those
in need in our community, and we feel that it is Bloom’s responsibility
as a local company to see that this happens,” he continued.
A Beautiful Day will be introduced to the community at an
August kickoff event, A Beautiful Night. This gala celebration
will bring together a crowd of over 400 of Colorado’s trendsetters
and philanthropists to raise awareness for the project, celebrate
life and raise additional funds through a ticketed party, as
well as silent and live auctions.
“We are thrilled to partner with Bloom in this endeavor,”
commented Anne Robinson, Beacon Center’s Executive Director.
“The work that we do wouldn’t be possible without the support
of local businesses. Bloom’s efforts with A Beautiful Day will
be one of our biggest fundraisers and we are thrilled about
the lives we will be able to touch with their contributions.
We are looking very forward to cultivating this relationship
with such a unique event,” she finished.
As soon as the participating spas, salons, plastic doctors,
cosmetic dentists, dermatologists and LASIK doctors are announced,
Coloradoans will be encouraged to book appointments with them
in support of A Beautiful Day. Stay tuned to www.bloomcolorado.com
for a list of participants and to purchase tickets to the A
Beautiful Night kickoff gala.
Potential sponsors and participating salons, spas, boutiques,
plastic doctors, dermatologists, LASIK doctors and cosmetic
dentists can join in the effort by contacting Bloom magazine
at e-mail protected from spam bots or by calling 303.229.2720.
